Lay all the pieces on the ground. Remove the instruction manual. Find the supply section of the manual. Check to make sure you have all the required material. You don’t want to start the project and then discover you need vital pieces.

Prepare the Area

Decide on an area to put the pool. Measure the place about a foot more than the pool size you purchase. Take a construction level to make sure the area is flat. If not, you can use rakes or shoves to flatten the area. Lay down a tarp and stake it to the ground. This will protect the bottom of the pool from loose rocks or other debris.

Assemble the Pool

The main parts of an above-ground pool are the plastic pool and the legs. Lay the plastic pool out on top of the tarp flat. Make sure any creases are minimal. When that is complete, move on to installing the legs.

Typical above-ground pools have the legs, the plastic feet that go onto the bottom of the legs, and a t-pipe. You place the t-pipes through the sleeves of the pool. Once you insert the t-pipe into the sleeve, you connect another t-pipe to the first one with the plastic connectors that come with your pool. Go around the pool connecting all the t-pipes.

The last step to the main above-ground pool assembly is putting the legs on. This may require two or three people for an easier installation. Begin at one end, and place the legs into the hole

in the t-pipe. Do three on that side, then move to the opposite side if you are installing alone and repeat the leg process. If you have help, while you hold the first side, the other person on the opposite side puts three legs in. You can then go around the circumference of the above-ground pool and repeat the process until all the legs are in place.

Once the above-ground pool is entirely upright, walk around straightening the legs. Also, as you go around the pool, flatten the bottom and sides as much as possible so you do not end up with creases.

Install Accessories

Your specific pool may come with additional items. These can include a ladder, a filter pump, a vacuum, and a pool cover. The instructions for these accessories may vary. But before filling the pool, install the filter and assemble the ladder.

The filter is simple. Push the A slot in the A-hole and push the B slot inside the B-hole of the pool. Then connect the hoses and find an electrical outside away from the above-ground pool to plug in the filter pump, know about home repairs.

Filling the Pool

This process can take upwards of five hours, depending on the size of the above-ground pool. Place the hose through one of the t-pipes and lower it to the bottom. This will ensure the hose stays in the pool. Turn on the hose and begin filling. Every 30 to 40 minutes, go out to check on the process. During this time, you will need to adjust the legs. As the pool begins to fill, the legs may move. Pull them outward to a level position. Repeat the process until the water is above the filter holes. Then turn on the filter and finish filling the pool. Refrain from overfilling because that could cause a huge mess.
